Stage 1: Charging the Tracker
Before you begin the digital setup, the hardware needs to be powered up.
- Locate the Charging Pins: Find the gold contact points on the back of the small tracker.
- Attach the Clip: Align the pins on the USB clip with the dots on the tracker and snap it on.
- Power Up: Plug the USB into a power source. A red light will appear to indicate it is charging. Let it charge for at least one hour.
Stage 2: Attaching to an Item (Glasses/Hearing Aids)
Attach to items that are frequently misplaced.
The tracker uses silicone "sleeves" to stay secure.
- Choose a Sleeve: Select one of the four provided silicone moulds that best fits your item.
- Insert Tracker: Slide the tracker into the center of the sleeve.
- Secure to Item: Slide the arm of your glasses or the wire of your hearing aid through the loops of the sleeve.
Tip: Start with items your team spends the most time searching for.
Stage 3: App Installation
The app is the "brain" of the tracker.
- Download: Search for "MeepMeep Senior Care" in the Apple App Store.
- Setup Type: Choose "Continue for Personal Use"
- Enable Bluetooth: You must allow Bluetooth and Location permissions for the app to find your tracker.
Stage 4: Pairing & Finding Your Item
Connect the device to your phone.
- Add Tracker: Tap the large blue "+" button on the home screen.
- Pairing: Hold the tracker near your phone. The app will display "Connected" once it finds the signal.
- Test the Sound: Tap the "Play" icon to make the tracker chime. This is how you find it when it's lost!
Stage 5: Test It
Make sure everything is working before use.
Tap âPlayâ to trigger a sound
Use this feature to locate items when they are misplaced
This is the main way staff and families will use MeepMeep day-to-day.
Stage 6: Managing & Rename (Optional)
Keep items organized as you scale.
Rename items (e.g., âRight Hearing Aidâ)
View last known location in the map
Especially useful when managing multiple residents or items.
Follow a consistent naming convention and ensure all labels, notes, and location data comply with privacy regulations. Avoid using full resident names or identifiable information in device labels.
- Rename: Go to the "Manage" tab. Tap the device to rename it (e.g., "Dad's Hearing Aid Right").
- Location History: Use the "Map" tab to see where the item was last seen by the phone.
- Support: If you get stuck, the "Support" tab has contact info for the MeepMeep team.
